Water Monitoring

Every month the FLFR team tests water quality on the river and some of its tributaries. Each volunteer offers 2-3 hours of their time once a month.
In this effort, FLFR collaborates with Alabama Water Watch and Black Warrior River-keeper. Continuous testing, over the past 26 years, has created a valuable database -- both bacteriological and chemical. FLFR currently monitors water quality at McCay Lake, Gurley Creek, Mardis Mill Falls, Graves Creek and Swann Covered Bridge. More monitors mean more data at more sites!
