From our Volunteer Coordinator, Chris Cleveland:
I once heard a man say, ‘Everyone needs help,’ when his daughter asked for a fundraiser donation. The man wasn’t exactly wanting to give, but he did. I find that’s a very common situation when it comes to a good intention. There are lots of worthwhile things to do, and all require some sort of effort and often a sacrifice. Without question the greatest gift is giving of one’s time. It requires the most effort and sacrifice. That’s exactly what Friends of the Locust Fork River is asking from you. GET INVOLVED. FLFR often needs help at events, with ongoing projects, education, cleanups, outings. We would love to have your support in enjoying, protecting and preserving one of our greatest gifts – the Locust Fork.
The Friends of the Locust Fork River is a 100% volunteer non-profit organization. We volunteers lead hikes, floats and canoe trips, present our annual Kid’s Day on the River, lead clean ups, staff booths at June Fling, Covered Bridge Festival and the County Fair, serve on the board of directors. With all we get done, there’s more we want to do. Come help us! Become a volunteer and we’ll contact you for a given volunteer opportunity. If you’re not available for that one, we’ll try you on the next go-round. Thank you for your willingness to help.
Which activities interest you? We’ll train you.
